Larry Thornton is a self-made entrepreneur who has founded multiple software companies with significant market share in the Check Processing and ATM Deposit Processing market in many large banks in America and Europe, with good penetration in the Community Bank market as well. Larry developed strong Business Relationships with large public companies, like IBM, Unisys, and NCR Corporation to leverage their hardware platforms, software platforms, and customer relationships to open doors to develop a suite of Mission Critical Software Applications, (The Payments Navigator) that are licensed and supported by the staff at Software Earnings, Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee. The following is a partial list of customers that have licensed software from SEI: Bank of America, CitiBank, Wells Fargo, Key Bank, JP Morgan Chase, BB&T Bank, Regions Bank, SunTrust Bank, First Tennessee Bank, Citizens Bank, and Barclays Bank, Federal Reserve Bank, and 70 community banks. Larry serves as founder, President, and CEO of Software Earnings, Inc. for the past 26 years.
As payment methods continue to change, Larry founded First Touch Payments Solutions, LLC to embrace the rising number of credit card and debit card transactions processed around the world. The company established a business relationship with First Data Corporation, the world’s largest processor of Debit and Credit transactions, where FTPS sells and supports a variety of Merchant services and products to medium and large business throughout America. The company has now developed a new suite of software applications specifically for managing credit card and debit card transaction activity. The new suite is called (Red Carpet Software) and provides Executives and management with Dashboards to monitor payment activities and events within their businesses. Larry serves and founder, President and CEO of First Touch Payment Solutions, LLC for the past 5 years.
Debbie Thornton has served as the General Manager of Software Earnings since 2015 prior to that she has managed several of her own businesses and brings vast leadership experience to SEI in a variety of areas including finance and accounting.
Chief Operating Officer
David Garavelli’s career in the banking industry began after his graduation from Southwest Community College in Memphis, Tenn. He began working at First Tennessee Bank in 1980, where he ran operations for First Express, a national check clearing business. In 1988, Garavelli began working for First American Bank heading their West Tennessee operations . He worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis from 1991-1996 before returning to First Tennessee Bank to run their document processing and returns.
Garavelli began his career at Software Earnings as Director of Consulting and has since been promoted senior vice president of business development, senior vice president and industry specialist, and executive vice president of product management. He currently serves as Software Earnings’ chief operations officer. Garavelli says a highlight of his career was the development of Software Earnings’ check optimization product. He played an instrumental role in this project. The solution allowed banks to move away from keying at proof machines to keying online from an electronic image. Garavelli’s favorite role at Software Earnings is getting people to work together toward the common goal of customer satisfaction. This includes coordinating sales, development, product ownership, and customer support into one effective operation. He is also passionate about customer relationships, and he enjoys visiting customers and building vendor relationships.
As chief operations officer at Software Earnings, it is his responsibility to lead everything customer-related, including projects, services, and coding. Garavelli describes his position as a total customer commitment leader. By utilizing his strong coordination and management skills, he leads the company’s operations to provide high quality products and services for customers.
Executive Vice President, Client Services
Mark Reasons has been in the Check Processing industry for 23 years. He joined Software Earnings in late 2000 as a Project Manager. His current responsibilities include the overall management of the company’s customer facing services including Customer Support, Installation Services, Testing Assistance, Training, Documentation, and Business Support.
Before coming to Software Earnings, Reasons managed two community bank operations centers, was a Check Operations Supervisor over both the Item Processing and Research /Adjustments departments of The Federal Reserve Bank – Memphis, was an Item Processing Shift Manager at First Tennessee Bank and Senior Consultant for Profit Resources Inc.
Chief Technology Officer
Tim Woodard is currently the Chief Technology officer at Software Earnings. As the CTO he directs the company’s product strategy and is responsible for product architecture, implementation and operations. He also considers himself a relationship manager. Making sure all customers are treated with the utmost respect and integrity is Tim’s trademark.
Woodard has over 16 years’ experience in the banking industry. After attending University of Memphis, he was fortunate to receive a position at Check Solutions in the IT department. In that role he helped solve any and all IT related issues in house. After a few years, he started traveling around the country installing check processing software. In 2003, Woodard was pleased to accept a position as an Implementation Specialist with Software Earnings. In the last 11 years he has installed, configured and supported software implementations at over 50 different banks. In 2013 he was promoted to his current role at Software Earnings.
Executive Vice President, Product Development
Bart Trahan has been with Software Earnings for twenty years moving up from Lead Developer to his present role as EVP of Product Development. He is a graduate of Delta State University in Computer Information Systems and has been in software development for over 30 years getting his start at the age of 17 for the Department of Agriculture.
Trahan came to Software Earnings after leaving his role as Senior Developer for Fed-Ex. Previous to his time at Fed-Ex he was a developer for Holiday Corporation (the former owner of Promus Hotels, Harrahs, Embassy Suites and others.) During his time at Software Earnings he has been involved in major projects developing Payments Remittance Manager, ATM Balancing System and Enhanced Security System.
Executive Vice President, Marketing & Communication
Kevin Coll is a young and enthusiastic, marketing executive and communication specialist serving as the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communication for Software Earnings. In the realm of marketing, he specializes in brand management, integrated advertising, channel marketing, social media and public relations which he has gained and amassed ten years of experience across multiple industries and businesses.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., he is also a graduate of Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Mo., where he received a bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a focus in journalism and public relations and a minor in business administration. He began his early career in corporate marketing for a large, single-owned Wendy’s franchise, Carlisle Corporation. In four years, Coll developed a passion for small business and entrepreneurship. His experience and time within that small business led him to move to ServiceMaster, a major publicly traded (Nasdaq: SERV), home service franchisor, in April 2012. Coll’s unique understanding of the franchisee mentality, his marketing experience and new media background made him a perfect fit to help foster the Merry Maids brand, a division of Servicemaster, into new areas. Some of these new areas included: social and new media, online reputation management, television production, advertising and brand development. In two years he stimulated 125% growth in the Merry Maids social media community across multiple social channels. Coll also spearheaded the effort to develop the first ever-national cause marketing program for Merry Maids, partnering with the American Heart Association, making it a national success. He conceptualized and executed the “Raise the Roof,” campaign, an annual month long national fundraising campaign and employee engagement program during American Heart Month. The first two years of the program raised an estimated $300,000 for the American Heart Association with 100% branch participation and 35% franchise wide participation across the Merry Maids brand. He assisted in the creative development and production of the brand’s latest commercial spots not only saving the company hundreds of thousands of dollars in long term fees for talent but producing the new spots with a smaller budget. Lastly, Coll helped develop and implement online reputation channels and methods to protect brand reputation through multiple digital channels across a vast multi-location, franchise network.
On May 15, 2014 he accepted an opportunity to become Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communication for Software Earnings, Inc. In that role, he serves as an executive leader of the company in the areas of marketing, communication and business development. Coll also serves as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communication for SEI’s sister company, First Touch Payment Solutions.
